Die CD »Garden of the Lost«
Walking tip-toed down the hallway,
reading Elfquest on the floor,
gnawing fingernails and practising that intro just once more:
O I really should have known the very day I wrote that song
recording it would take us o so long…
erste CD Garden of the Lost aufzunehmen.
Mistress
Alma wurde komplett neu eingespielt. Der Titelsong Garden of the
soweit:

Die CD »Garden of the Lost«
Walking tip-toed down the hallway,
reading Elfquest on the floor,
gnawing fingernails and practising that intro just once more:
O I really should have known the very day I wrote that song
recording it would take us o so long…
In the summer of 2001, Lord Landless spent ten wonderful (and straining)
days in Berlin with Kirstin and Volker Tanger, to record their first CD Garden of the Lost.
The songs were played and sung in the kitchen, while Volker was in his
study, modulating and lateron working true miracles as Dr Frankenstein
to make three faulty fracks into a flawless one. Actually, after four
days full of blood, swaet and tears, all songs were done and taped (or
harddisked), but since Thesilée had caught a bad cold on the way there,
she went to Berlin again in December, this time in the company of her
friend Christoph who was so kind as to play some keyboard parts. In the
springtime, there was another trip, this time by Silva. And the great
Simon Fairbourn (a filker from England) could be won to be the father in
The Fairy King.
After the first recording sessions, they entered the period of
enthusiastic listening, the period of less enthusiastic listening, the
period of whining and the period of wishing to re-record everything.
Thesilée had caught a cold during the first recordings and by and by
re-sang most her songs. Buzzing guitar parts were replaced by better
ones. Mistress Alma was completely redone. The title track Garden
of the Lost received a new arrangement. Additional keyboard parts
and new backing and backing-backing vocals spiced up the somewhat dull
guitar picking. For the sea-faring song The Liberty, they managed
to emulate a whole sailors' choir. And the years went by.
Next, along came the period of mixing, the period of cursing, the period
of re- and re-remixing, the period of mixing everthing louder, whilst
Silva and Kirstin worked their pixels hard so the CD would end up with a
cover.
